When we experience trauma or life‑changing events, parts of the soul can fragment or “step back” as a way to protect us. This is sometimes called soul loss. It can occur in this lifetime or carry forward from other lifetimes, and may show up as numbness, disconnection, addictions, anxiety, or a persistent sense that “a part of me is missing.” Within shamanic work, doctoring for a person can involve retrieving and re‑welcoming soul pieces that are ready to return. Soul retrieval is not a technique I offer separately; it is one of the ways Spirit may choose to work in a session.
